Stageverse is meant to be experienced with others. An important part of the social experience is communicating with others via spatial voice chat. Spatial voice chat in Stageverse allows you to walk up to others in your party, join conversations, and pop in and out of discussions as you explore, connect with friends, and meet new people.
Voice Chat in VR
In VR, you can mute and unmute your microphone from your Wrist HUD.
Voice Chat on Mobile
On Mobile, you have the option to either use an external microphone and headphones (for example, Apple Airpods or similar devices) or you can use the internal microphone and speaker in your smartphone. For the best experience in Stageverse, we recommend using headphones!
- If you are using your internal microphone and speaker, you can communicate with others by using the Push-to-talk button on your HUD.
- If you are using an external microphone and speaker, you can communicate with others by using the mute / unmute button on the upper right-hand-side of your HUD.
Granting Microphone Permissions during Onboarding
In order to use voice chat, you will need to grant Stageverse permission to use your device’s Microphone. You will be prompted during Sign Up to grant Stageverse permissions. We recommend granting Stageverse Microphone Permissions for the best possible experience.
Enabling Microphone Permissions from Device Settings
In some cases, you may accidentally say “No” to Stageverse’s Microphone Permissions request during initial onboarding. If that is the case, you can always re-enable Microphone Permissions through your device’s privacy settings.
Enabling Microphone Permissions from Device Settings - iOS
On your iOS device, go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and make sure Stageverse is Enabled for Microphone Permissions.
Enabling Microphone Permissions from Device Settings - Android
On your Android device, open the Settings app > Apps & notifications > Stageverse >Permissions and make sure Microphone Permissions are enabled.
Enabling Microphone Permissions - VR
On your Quest device, navigate to the Stageverse App in your Oculus Library, select the three-dot icon to open the app menu. Select permissions from the drop-down menu that appears. Select 'Allow' Microphone Permissions.
